Buy Nothing Month Day 11 Notes + Workshop Invite

So far the hardest part of buy nothing month is actually remembering what I am doing. Since it is a new habit for me I automatically forget and I start thinking about what I am going to buy.  Once I have done that, making do with what I have and asking others is relatively easy.  I finished reading Go Set a Watchmen this month and I thought about buying a new book  for 15 mins till I realised I couldn't. I ended up borrowing Gone Girl from my partner. I think I will continue it for December. Wish me luck!

As you know I run the Melbourne Minimalist Meetups and our next meetup is a workshop on personal finance. If you are in Melbourne and want to learn about healthy saving and spending then this is for you.

Being a minimalist is all about making the most of your life. As your life is made up of many different facets we need to pay attention to each one of them. And one facet that gets neglected and misdealt royally is the area of our personal finance.

There are no classes at school and usually at home our parents are just as clueless as we are.  So, we go through life either oblivious to its effect and just hope our money will sort itself out.

The thing is learning the basics of personal finance is fairly simple. This coming Wednesday at the Healthy Saving and Spending Workshop I will show you how to create a simple and effective framework for how to spend your money that helps you make smarter choices for now and the future.

I recommend that you bring your favourite note-taking materials and a calculating device.
